Should You Start a Podcast for Your Business? Hell Yes!

The short answer is, it yes!

In case you’ve been living under a rock, or you somehow accidentally stumbled across this article, you should first know what a podcast is.

Oberlo, defines a podcast as a recording of audio discussion on a specific topic, like business or travel, that can be listened to. They’re often found on audio streaming platforms like iTunes and Spotify, but they are sometimes hosted on websites.

Podcasts are becoming increasing popular, as the number of people who listen to podcasts grows year over year. In fact, 51% of the US population has listened to a podcast at least once.

It’s really no wonder that podcasts are becoming more popular. As people continue to spend more and more time online, they look for convenient forms of entertainment that fit within their busy lifestyles. Podcasts fit that bill. Most people listen to podcasts right from their smartphones.

And there’s a podcast for every subject under the sun. According to ...

I Recorded Episode 100 of My Podcast - Issa Celebration!

If you can hear the sound of my voice (or read this article), yesterday I recorded episode 100 of my podcast, Master Your Mission! ONE ZERO ZEROOOOO! I actually wore a tux as I wrote this article and recorded my episode. It’s a momentous occasion!

First I want to thank my momma and my daddy for making a real G! Thank you Pookie and Day Day for being the realest, and thank you to everyone who listens to this podcast. From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate you coming back to listen to my podcast every day to hear what I have to say, because I know that you could be somewhere else doing something else with your time.

If you’re a close personal friend of mine or if you happen to have been listening to my podcast from day 1, then you know that this is a huge milestone for me. Tres Amigos, Trinity Comedy, Doc, I think I told you all about this wild idea and y’all probably thought, “Aw shit. Here he goes!” But thank you for not...

Are You Creating Content For Your Business?

If you’re not creating content for your business, you should be. Content is still King!

Your content can help you:
Grow your audience
Build trust for your brand
Establish yourself as an expert.
And so much more.

Your content is every thing that you put out in the webosphere. If you aren’t putting any effort into your content, you are likely leaving money on the table.

Producing great content is a really inexpensive way to grow your potential customer base because you don’t have to spend money to do it. Consider starting a podcast, writing a blog, and sharing your message on your social media.

Since we’re talking about content, I wanted to remind you of a past episode of my podcast that I did on 10 ways to come up with ideas for your content. Let’s recap.

Here are 10 ways to come up with ideas for creating your content.

  1. Ask social media. Reach out to people who follow you on social media. If you have a business page or a page that is dedicated to...

One Bold Action Per Day (Week 6 Update)

Here we are at just past 6 weeks since I made the commitment to take one bold action per day for 66 days. If you want to hear previous updates about this commitment, check out my podcast, Master Your Mission, on iTunes, Spotify, or Google Play Music to get caught up.

Just a quick recap to bring you up to speed—on February 21st, I committed to taking one bold action per day for 66 days. I made this commitment to

  1. Show other people that taking action toward accomplishing their life goals is not as scary as it looks.
  2. Make taking bold actions a habit—or second nature—in my life. (Sidenote: According to studies, it takes 66 days to form a habit.)

I defined a bold action as one that

  • Moves me out of my comfort zone and closer to my goals.
  • Defies an irrational fear that I’ve allowed to hold me back in the past.

To make this fun for you and me, I also challenged you to take one bold action per day toward something that you want to accomplish in your...

Stay Motivated - Hang In There, Introvert

Yesterday, I gave you all the 4 week update to my One Bold Action Per Day commitment. Since I’m always talking about pushing past your fears and going for what you know in life, I want to be sure I am giving you all a full picture of the good and the not so good.

The beginning of my week was pretty rough. My introversion was in extra full force. Recording my podcast wasn’t a problem, but posting videos on Instagram was a real struggle. Every morning I woke up with a very strong desire to delete my IG account and crawl back into a cave.

I second guessed everything. Typically, I won’t listen to my podcast episodes once I post them, nor will I read my blog posts, nor will I watch my IGTV videos. But I did all those things this week. Over and over.

Now, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to review your content. If you’re reviewing it to get new ideas or see where you can improve, great. If you’re reviewing it to be overly critical and...

One Bold Action Per Day (Week 4 Update)

Hopefully, you’ve been following my podcast, Master Your Mission, on iTunes, Spotify, or Google Play Music, or you follow me on Instagram, or you read what I write here on my blog.

If any of the above is true, you may know that on February 21st, I committed to taking one bold action per day for 66 days. This commitment stems from my personal desire to do two things:

  1. Show other people that taking bold action is not as scary as it looks.
  2. Make taking bold actions a habit—or second nature—in my life. (Sidenote: According to studies, it takes 66 days to form a habit.)

An important thing to note is that I defined a bold action as one that a) moves me out of my comfort zone and closer to my goals and b) defies an irrational fear that I’ve allowed to hold me back in the past.

I also challenged you to take one bold action per day toward something that you want to accomplish in your life.

Today marks, 4 weeks—one full month—since I made this...

10 Easy Ways to Come Up with Ideas for Your Content

By now, you know that I talk about sharing your message and following your dreams a lot. I think I’ve been pretty honest about how difficult it can be to get over the initial fear of putting yourself out there as the example for people to follow, but there’s another difficulty that I haven’t discussed with you yet.

Whether you decide to share daily—like I do—weekly, or somewhere in between, you’ll inevitably need to be able to come up with interesting topics to discuss in your podcast, blog, YouTube videos, or whatever medium you choose to use.

Of course, the more frequently you share, the more content you’ll have to create, and if you aren’t prepared, you can find yourself scrambling for ideas and creating sub par content. You’ll need to be able to give your audience useful information that they actually want, and this requires some level of preparation—maybe even a bit of research.

Here are 10 ways to come up with...
