If any of the above is true, you may know that on February 21st, I committed to taking one bold action per day for 66 days. This commitment stems from my personal desire to do two things:
An important thing to note is that I defined a bold action as one that a) moves me out of my comfort zone and closer to my goals and b) defies an irrational fear that I’ve allowed to hold me back in the past.
I also challenged you to take one bold action per day toward something that you want to accomplish in your life.
Today marks, 4 weeks — one full month — since I made this commitment. For the last 31 days straight, I’ve recorded an episode of my podcast. I haven’t skipped one single day, and I don’t plan to until my 66 days are complete. At that point, I plan to record Monday through Friday only.
I can tell you that, in these 4 short weeks — actually, they feel more like 8 weeks now but they flew by — I’ve learned so much. First of all, I was extremely scared to start sharing my message through the podcast. I pushed myself through the fear and did it anyway. To my surprise, I’ve grown to really, really enjoy recording my podcast.
I’ve also been posting a daily inspirational video on Instagram and Facebook, and of course, I was really scared to do that too.
It has absolutely blown my mind that I’ve gotten so much positive feedback from people about how much me sharing has inspired them to push their own fears aside to pursue something they’ve always wanted to do.
Please, when you have a moment, go check out the first episode of my podcast. It’s absolutely horrible. I won’t even listen to it today because I’m so tempted to delete it. After you listen to the first episode, listen to the most recent episode. My growth in this short amount of time is immediately recognizable.
So I want to encourage you to use me as an example of what you can do. Whatever fear you are allowing to hold you back from doing that thing you really want to do, acknowledge it and push through it. So what if you aren’t perfect. So what if you don’t have formal training. So what if you don’t have followers. Do it anyway.
Commit to taking one bold action per day for 66 days, and watch how much it changes your life. You’ll be really glad you did.
If you’ve already been taking one bold action per day with me, go to my social media and let me know what you’re doing and how it’s affecting you.
