One Bold Action Per Day (Week 6 Update)

Here we are at just past 6 weeks since I made the commitment to take one bold action per day for 66 days. If you want to hear previous updates about this commitment, check out my podcast, Master Your Mission, on iTunes, Spotify, or Google Play Music to get caught up.

Just a quick recap to bring you up to speed — on February 21st, I committed to taking one bold action per day for 66 days. I made this commitment to

  1. Show other people that taking action toward accomplishing their life goals is not as scary as it looks.
  2. Make taking bold actions a habit — or second nature — in my life. (Sidenote: According to studies, it takes 66 days to form a habit.)

I defined a bold action as one that

  • Moves me out of my comfort zone and closer to my goals.
  • Defies an irrational fear that I’ve allowed to hold me back in the past.

To make this fun for you and me, I also challenged you to take one bold action per day toward something that you want to accomplish in your life.

Thursday made 6 weeks since I started this challenge. For 47 days straight, I’ve recorded an episode of my podcast — something I was initially horrified to do.

Just like at week 4, I feel like I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve learned that I’m a lot more capable than I gave myself credit for. I’ve learned that I really like podcasting and that I also enjoy spreading positive messages. I like encouraging people to live a life that makes them happy and free.

Six months ago, I never would’ve guessed that I’d be here doing what I’m doing today. I was actually much more focused on making money for my business than helping other people.

I’ve been even more inspired than ever to continue helping people because I’ve gotten a ton of encouragement and feedback from people who have told me that they’re inspired by what I’m doing. I’ve grown in confidence, knowledge, patience, commitment and courage.

I do have to say that one of the most important things I’ve learned is that I have to actively make an effort to stay in a positive and motivated head space. Since I’m recording my podcast daily, bad days are real mood killers and I have to learn how to manage events in my life to avoid them. I’ve learned how to implement tools that help me focus on goals and positive thoughts, as opposed to allowing frustrating moments to turn into days where I wallow in negative thoughts and allow myself to become unmotivated.

I’m so excited to keep recording my podcast and motivating people daily. I want to continue to lead by example because I think that showing people with action is much more powerful than just giving people talk and lip service.

Feel free to go back and listen to some of my earlier podcast episodes (they’re really embarrassing) and compare them to more recent episodes. You’ll see just how much better I’ve gotten in the last 47 days.

Please use my example as encouragement and as a reminder that you can get over any fear you have of pursuing whatever it is you want. You don’t have to wait for some imaginary perfect time or scenario. You don’t need years of experience or tons of money. You just need a little bit of courage and determination to make your dreams come true.

So again, I’m challenging you to commit to taking one bold action per day for 66 days. You’ll see how much it changes your life for the better and helps you accomplish your goals.

If you’ve already been taking one bold action per day with me, go to my social media and let me know what you’re doing and how it’s affecting you.
