What Have You Been Doing for the Last 2 Months?

You’ve heard me talk a lot about how it takes 66 days to create a habit. So, I have a question, and I want you to really think about this. What have you been doing consistently for the last two months? Is it something that would create good habits or bad habits? Would you be proud to tell someone that you’ve been doing it?

Have you been sitting on the couch, watching TV every evening after work? Have you been writing articles for your blog? Have you been creating products for your business? Have you been avoiding doing something that you really need to do for your business?

Whatever you’ve been doing consistently for the last 66 days has likely become something that you do without even thinking about it. In other words, you’ve formed a habit.

If you’ve inadvertently formed a bad habit, it’s not too late to break that and replace it with a good habit. You can make your mind up, right now, that you’ll create a good habit by doing something bold that helps your business every single day for the next 66 days.

When you commit to taking bold action for 66 days straight, it can sound like a scary long time to do something, but when you think back on what you were doing in early March, you realize that time passed by really fast.

I have another question. Can you afford not to commit to taking action every day for the next two months? If you can, do you. If you can’t because you need to change your financial situation or your job situation or your happiness situation, then this should be a no brainer.

Recall that I started my podcast — Master Your Mission — and on February 21st, I embarked on my One Bold Action per Day Commitment, where I committed to taking one bold action per day for 66 days by recording and posting a podcast episode every day. I thought 66 days sounded like forever. Yesterday, I recorded the 80th episode of my podcast.

So really, 66 days is not very long. Especially when you are committing to doing something that will benefit you and potentially change your life or your business for the better.

I saw a post on social media today that said something like, “You can’t work a job you hate for 20 years and complain about staying committed to working on your own business for 3 years.” I don’t remember who it came from, but that person is so right. And it’s even worse to be reluctant to commit to taking action for your business for just 2 months.

So I want to encourage you to commit to taking action for just two months. The experience will change you and your business, and you’ll be creating the type of habits that make you better rather than hold you back.
