Are You Smarter Than a Baby?

Do you think you’re smarter than a baby? A newborn…you probably are. But what about a 1 year old? Maybe not so much.

At around one, babies have usually mastered the art of crawling and they begin to pull themselves up to stand on their tiny little feet. They wobble and sway because their little legs don’t have much strength and they haven’t gained full control of their motor skills.

So they grab onto things, pull themselves up, stand for a split second, then they fall on their butts. They do this over and over. Pull themselves up, stand, fall, pull themselves up, stand, and fall.

They keep doing it, unphased by the fact that they weren’t very good at standing the first 100 times. Eventually, they pull themselves up and all of a sudden, they’re standing long enough to take a step, but JUST long enough to take a step.

They fall right back on their butts, never losing focus on whatever they were attempting to walk to in the first place, so they...

10 Affirmations to Keep You Focused on Your Goal

I’ve been talking about goals all week, and I’ve been encouraging you to join my 66 Days of Bold Action Challenge—where you’ll take action every day for 66 days toward a goal you have. Whether you join the Challenge or not, working toward your goals is an important part of your personal happiness and growth in life.

Since I’ve already done this Challenge once, myself, I know that there will be ups and downs in those 66 days. There will be days you want to quit. There will be days where you just don’t feel like putting forth any effort. There will be days where you feel like you just aren’t making progress. But you have to stay the course.

When you don’t have the tools already in place to help you through those rough patches, you may very well give up. That’s why it’s important to have a support system and to be prepared to do the mental work that it will take to get through bad days. You have to actively...

I'm Introducing Myself to a New Person Every Day for 66 Days

In the 66 Days of Bold Action episode of my podcast, Master Your Mission, I talked about my experience of taking one bold action per day for 66 days. In that episode, I talk about how doing that affected me and changed me for the better. If you haven’t heard it yet, go check it out.

I also mentioned, in that episode, that I’m ready to do it again. I’m ready to take one bold action per day for 66 days to get me out of my comfort zone and closer to achieving a goal, so I asked for your help.

I wanted you to help me choose what my bold action would be, and I gave you three options to choose from.

A) Wake up every morning at 4 am.

B) Go Live every day on social media.

C) Introduce myself to someone new every day.

The overwhelming winner, was—of course—C) Introduce myself to someone new every day.

So during my 66 Days of Bold Action Challenge, that starts July 15th, I’ll be going up to some random person every day for 66 days to...

Setting SMART Goals

In honor of my upcoming 66 Days of Bold Action Challenge, that starts on July 15th, I want to revisit a topic that we’ve talked about a lot here, and that’s goal setting.

When you set goals, you establish direction in your intentions, your actions, and your thoughts. It’s’ like setting a destination in your GPS—you decide where you’re going and you take the necessary steps to get there.

Believe it or not, there’s a science to setting goals effectively and putting yourself in the best possible position to actually achieve those goals. Of course, when we set goals, we want to succeed at accomplishing them and not just set them for the sake of setting them.

So let’s revisit how to effectively set goals, and crush them.

First, a little history. In 1981, a guy named George Doran wrote a paper that appeared in Management Review called, There’s a S.M.A.R.T. way to write management’s goals and objectives. In it, he used...

I Challenge You to 66 Days of Bold Action!

Today, I want to tell you about a Challenge that I really want you to be a part of. It’s my new 66 Days of Bold Action Challenge.

This Challenge is based on the experience I’ve shared in past episodes of my podcast, Master Your Mission, called One Bold Action Per Day. That experience helped me work through the fear of starting my podcast and doing the things that I was afraid of doing for my business.

As I’ve discussed in previous articles about the experience I had, it led to such growth in my business and in my life, that I really want to share the process with you as much as possible.

So back to the Challenge. The 66 Days of Bold Action Challenge encourages you to be bold and take massive action to accomplish your biggest goals. Here’s how it works…

Every day, for the duration of the 66 days of the challenge, you’ll take at least one bold action toward any goal(s) you want to accomplish.

To qualify as bold, the action you take must meet...

How Do You Define Success?

You are no stranger to hard work. You’ve been busting your ass, making it happen every day for your business, for your family, and for your own personal growth.

One of your biggest goals in life is to succeed. But have you ever taken the time to stop and think about what success means to you?

Do you consider yourself successful now? You’ve probably already overcome ridiculous odds and accomplished things you never imagined you would be able to accomplish.

For ambitious people, like you and me, we can sometimes feel like we’re chasing a moving target. That’s why it’s really important to sit down and come up with a definition of what success means to you.

This definition should be the core of what you value most, and your “I need to accomplish this in life and everything else is just a bonus”. So what is that for you?

Is it Family?

Maybe your success is defined by how you treat your family and what you’re able to provide for them....

66 Days of Bold Action

In the last four months, I’ve recorded 130 episodes of my podcast, published 122 articles here, and grown my business in the process. This all began, for me, when I decided that I wanted to start a business encouraging others to pursue their dreams in life and in entrepreneurship.

I had thought and thought about how I could reach my audience and how I could use what I had to get what I want. I knew that social media would be a powerful tool in sharing my message, but I needed to do more than just post on social media. A few ideas kept coming up. They were vlogging on YouTube, starting a podcast, and writing a blog.

All three of those ideas horrified me. Although I had experience making money online—in dropshipping—I had no experience putting myself on the line and being the face of my business like I would have to in order to execute those ideas. For a few weeks, I told myself that I couldn’t do it.

When no one was looking, I would try to record...

5 Reasons Accountability Matters to Your Success

Have you ever thought to yourself that if you had someone holding you accountable, you’d be much more successful? You know, as students—from Kindergarten all the way through college—we (or most of us) did our homework because we would be held accountable by our teachers, sometimes our classmates, and definitely our parents, if we didn’t.

As adults, things are a lot different. If you set out to accomplish something, it’s up to you whether that happens or not. And many times, no one would ever even know you failed to achieve that goal unless you told them. That makes it super easy to just give up whenever you want to.

This is precisely why accountability matters to your success, and having an accountability partner could completely change the game for you. Here are 5 reasons why.

  1. You’re much more likely to succeed. According to Entrepreneur.com, your likelihood of success skyrockets when you have an accountability partner. In fact,...

Are You Reeeally Doing Your Best? Reeeally?

When you have goals in life and you’re the take action type, you decide what you want, you roll up your sleeves, then you go out and do the work to get what you want. In doing so, you may have had to get over fears, push through procrastination, and make due with the bare minimum, but when you’re determined, you ain’t letting nothing stop you.

That’s what it’s all about!

When you’re head down, in the trenches going for what you know, sometimes you can have such tunnel vision that you never look up to see whether you’re actually making progress. It’s possible and very likely that you’ll push past your initial fears, take action, and then—at various points in your process—get complacent with that level of action. You can get so comfortable that you never push yourself any further beyond that point.

That, my friend, is called a plateau. We do what’s necessary to start, we go hard for a while, see growth...

Can't Stay Focused? This Might Be Why

One of the questions that I get from other entrepreneurs pretty consistently is how to stay focused on your goals. If you’re having the problem of constantly losing focus, you might need to do some trouble shooting.

One of the most common, and easy to identify, issues that would cause you to be unable to focus is that you aren’t really clear about exactly what your goals are. It sounds too simple to be an issue, but most of us have done it before.

Sometimes people say they want things that they really don’t want. It’s easy for someone to say that they want to own a business, but most people aren’t willing—or maybe just aren’t ready—to do the work it takes to build one. That could be because of fear, complacency, or any number of reasons.

People end up mistaking wishes for goals and then going through the motions to convince themselves that they are actually out here chasing their dreams. What do I mean by that? People set...
